After revealing she has been "Googling like a nut for unique Italian names," Snooki announced via Twitter the arrival of her daughter and the sweet Italian name they settled on.

Giovanna is an Italian name that means "gift from God." According to the Social Security Administration, Giovanna peaked in 2001 when it was ranked as the 636th most popular girl name. It currently stands at number 962 on the chart.
This feminine name can easily be shortened to a cute nickname such as Gio, Gia or Gianna.
Why did Snooki pick the name Giovanna Marie? Besides it meeting her criteria of being Italian, Snooki's rep told TMZ that there is no special meaning behind the name, that she just liked the sound of it. Snooki and her fiancé, Jionni, are also parents to a 2-year-old son that also has the Italian name of Lorenzo.
Do you also love the sound of Italian names? Similar girl names along the same line as Snooki's baby name choice include Giada, Gabriella, Rosalie, Adriana and Bianca. Italian baby names are a great choice because they are unique, yet have a romantic and exotic sound to them.
In case you want to see more of Snooki (and we mean a lot more), she filmed the birth and TMZ is reporting that it will air on her MTV reality show Snooki & JWoww. The baby reportedly came a tad early, however Snooki said she had an easy delivery.
