Kensington Palace released this message on the details of the royal baby.
The newest addition to the royal family will join her adorable big brother Prince George, who turned 1 on July 22nd. The Duchess and Prince William will formally introduce their daughter to the world outside of St. Mary's hospital within the next day or so, as they did with Prince George.
The new parents have not revealed a baby name, and the palace said it will be announced "in due course." Last time, they waited several days before revealing George's name. We do know her title, which is Her Royal Highness, Princess of Cambridge. She will be fourth in line of succession behind Prince Charles, Prince William and her brother, Prince George.
The Duchess, whose due date was reportedly April 23, was several days overdue. However, once labor started, she progressed quickly. She reportedly had a natural birth.
Middleton, 33, had a rough start to her pregnancy as she suffered with extreme morning sickness, called hyperemesis gravidarum, with both pregnancies. After laying low for several weeks, the Duchess soon resumed her busy schedule and delighted fans with her statement coats, wrap dresses and a gorgeous black lace dress.
The Duchess was also reportedly hospitalized overnight when she was seven months pregnant due to intense abdominal pains, which luckily just turned out to be severe Braxton Hicks contractions.
Middleton and Prince William didn’t find out the sex of the baby and were expecting a delivery surprise. Many people guessed she was expecting a girl, however, as she was carrying higher and wider than with Prince George. Looks like that was correct. So many joyful congratulations to the royal family!
