Born 10 weeks before his due date and weighing just 2 pounds, 1 ounce, Hugo arrrived via emergency C-section. According to a post on the Love What Matters' Facebook page, after his birth, Hugo was taken immediately to the NICU for evaluation, and it wasn't until almost 60 hours later that Collinson was able to hold her tiny baby boy. When she finally got to hold him, you can literally see the love.

According to Hugo's Journey, a Facebook page established to share his development, after his abrupt arrival on Dec. 22, 2015, Hugo is now home with his family and growing. The video of him and his mom has gone viral, causing massive waterworks everywhere.

Each time a mom meets her child for the first time is amazing and unforgettable, but when there's a delay in that first meeting due to complications, such as that with many premature infants, it's all the more powerful, as this video clearly shows. Studies also show that holding premature babies may be the best thing for them.
Approximately 1 in 10 babies is born prematurely in the United States each year, which is defined as being born before 37 weeks. While there is a host of potential problems preemies face, today their chances of surviving and thriving are better than ever.
While not every premature birth can be prevented, there are some steps that women can take to reduce the risk, including reducing stress, quitting smoking and waiting at least 18 months between pregnancies.
